When the pandemic started, I realized that I wanted to get back into my lifelong hobby of reading. Horror and thrillers are my bread and butter, but recognizing that the pandemic was more than scary enough, I started to branch out into other genres. I started by reading cozy mysteries. Not a giant leap, but they gave me the whodunnit without any of the elevated heartrate. Making a bigger jump, I actually finished a romance novel without rolling my eyes once! I started to realize it really wasn’t about the genre, it was about how good something was. I often scroll Goodreads to find my next read. However, the star-ratings can be so……. Unreliable. Some of the best books I have ever read have 3.5 stars! Instead of looking at stars, I started reading reviews but here’s the thing. EVERYONE SPOILS EVERYTHING. With the types of books I read, that can ruin your reading experience. So, I decided to do spoiler-free (or at least spoiler warned) reviews myself. Voila, a blog started about 10 years too late.
